We all know the story of Chanukah, about Judah Macabee, and his brothers, and their fight to free Yisrael from the greco-syrian rule, and how when entering the mishkan, they set up the golden Mennorah and found only enough oil for one day, and G-d made it last 8 days.
Chanukah, after the latkes are served and the chocolate gelt eaten, and the skits in our synagogues performed, and the Chanukah story recited, then what? what do we remember?
When we light our Mennorot, we light the first lamp from the middle Shamesh What do the lights mean? 3500 years ago, G-d sent his Torah into our midst, first with Israel, and Moshe wrote it down, and passed it along, until the whole Tanach was written, and copies made, and now we have G-d's Word in our midst.
Are we reflecting G-d's light to the world around us? are we living a Torah lifestyle in our halacha. Are we living the "Jewish" identity? remember that "Jewish" comes from "Y'hudah" which menas "Praise" are we really "G-d praisers?"
G-d has sent us Torah to guide us in our life, His Living Torah inspires us to live our lives as Holy people, are you living your life as a "Ben or Bat Torah" (son or daughter of the Torah)?
