Here's a new way to look at the days and nights of Hanukkah, We can look at each candle light as one aspect of the faith,
first light "Teshuvah" second light "Emunah"
It is interesting that almost all aspects of the faith in Hebrew end in "ah"
TESHUVAH (returning, repentance) have we departed from the ways of Adonai? are we doing our own "thing" perhaps we should remember that one of the reasons for the destruction of the temple (twice) was because Israel went after strange gods, first by the Babylonians, then Antiochus desecrated it, then Titus destroyed it, The temple today is in our hearts, are our hearts turned away from Adonai? if so, let's turn again TO HIM
EMUNAH (faith) How are we showing our faith? one thing is to wear the kippah, tzitizt, etc, those are exterior things, but how is our inner faith? do people see our "inner faith" and thus, become attracted to Adonai? or does the kippah, or the tzitzi just attract curiosity? both are important, but which do you think is more important to G-d?
