PARASHA "KORACH" NUMBERS 16:1-18:32 (a mini-midrash)
Everyone has a job to do, in a church, synagogue, etc, someone has to be the chief, head-guy, and there have to be followers, helpers, etc, Korach was one of assistants, was a Levite, however, some, like him, wanted to bite off more than he could chew…worst of all…he spread rebellion to others,
"Moshe, who do you think you are, why "Kol HaKahal K'dsh" ALL the congregation is Holy!" or..not? what can we say? Were they "Holy?" (Kadsh)? Yes? the word "Holy" means to be "separated" not "perfect" but why do I spell "Kadosh" without the "o"?
In the Torah, when It comes to the Holiness of G-d, "Kadosh" is spelled with the "o" (vav) yet when it describes OUR holiness, it is spelled without the "vav" (Kadsh) Why is this? many rabbis believe that the reason is that OUR holiness is incomplete, there are problems with our "holiness" like Am Yisrael, "complainers, rebels, KORACHim! that is because of our sin nature, we are born with it, and will die with it, our "Holiness" is full of "holes!" yet Hashem, is complete, "without sin, perfect, HE is PERFECT YESHUAH (perfect Salvation)
The price of rebellion was death, the ground opened up and swallowed Korach and his company, yet some of sons refused to participate in his rebellion, so they lived to write some of the Tehillim.
Our G-d is a G-d of order, and HE has appointed his leaders, and followers, in that order, If we want his b'rachot, we need to be in submission to HIS authority, and support HIS chosen leaders in HIS Kehilot. HOWEVER, if one or some of his leaders is living, or teaching error in the Torah, going against what the Torah teaches, THEN, we need to correct them in a loving and respectful way, not with arrogance, not with the Korach style
Aaron was G-d chosen, HE showed this through the budding of the Almonds on his staff, the word "Sheked" is Almond, and there is word similar "Sh'kedah" (going through pains)which describes Israel, His chosen, yet going through "growing pains" worshiping Adonai, going away from Adonai, going into captivity, being dispersed throughout the nations, yet still clinging to the ONE faith in Adonai Echad, the GOD who is ONE
Are you clinging to Adonai in spite of "growing pains?" HE will not leave you nor forsake you, the sin of those who complained in the Kahal Israel, was not the "complaining" itself, it was the "lack of faith" which lead to complaining. Adonai lead them out of Egypt and brought YESHUAH (salvation) to the WHOLE NATION, provided for their needs, appointed leaders, and eventually, brought them to the promised land,
TRUST IN THE L-RD, FOR HE IS GOOD, HIS MERCY ENDURETH FOR EVER!
